The Bluenose was a celebrated Canadian fishing and racing gaff-rigged schooner built in 1921 in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia.

Nicknamed the “Queen of the North Atlantic,” she was designed by William J. Roué and captained by Angus Walters.

The vessel dominated the International Fishermen’s Trophy for some two decades.

The Bluenose II was launched in 1963 and has acted as Nova Scotia’s sailing ambassador ever since.

Now of course, some activities need very rugged gear and that is not what we do.

The first Bluenose sadly was wrecked and the Bluenose II is doing well.

I have read that a Bluenose III was considered, so I thought I should offer a fourth instead.
